The lawyer cost of chapter 11 bankruptcy varies, depending on the complexity of the case, the lawyer's hourly rates and the number of disputes filed by the creditors. The initial consultation is often free of charge, though some law firms charge $100 to $300.

A conservative estimate of the minimum lawyer cost of chapter 11 bankruptcy is $10,000. It is also possible that the amount could be as high as $100,000 or more. Hourly rates could range from $300 to $1000 in the case of Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing for a large corporation. A retainer is required as advance payment, and the balance of the fees could be negotiated to be paid on installment basis.
